Welcome to Greene County Board of Education's Website

Greene County Board of Education is located in west Alabama.  We are a rural school system serving approximately 1,400 students.  We have four main schools and a career center.

Eutaw Primary School serves students grades Pre-K through 3 and is located at 212 Eutaw Avenue. All classrooms are equipped with document cameras and DLP projectors with plans to purchase interactive whiteboards, student response systems and wireless slates in the future based on funding. A set of mini notebook computers are available per grade-level and wireless access points are installed campus-wide.

Greene County High School serves grades 9-12 and is also located in Eutaw at 623 Mesopotamia Street.  Greene County High School holds two state basketball championships within the last seven years.  Additionally, the school system received a 2007 ACCESS Distance Learning Grant from the State Department of Education for the high school's distance learning lab. The new equipment provides for a distance learning lab with tablet computers for at least twenty-five students per class period. Other classrooms, counselor's office and library are equipped with ceiling-mounted projectors, document cameras, interactive whiteboards, student response systems and wireless slates. Wireless access points are available and plans are to install access points campus-wide based on future E-Rate funding.

Carver Middle  School   serves grades 4-8 and is located at 720 Greensboro Street.  The school is equipped with a distance learning lab since 2009 with tablet computers for at least twenty-five students per class period.  Other classrooms are equipped with ceiling-mounted projectors and document cameras. Some classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, student response systems,  and wireless slates with plans to equip all classrooms with interactive whiteboards, response systems, classrooms on wheels and wireless slates based on future funding. Carver also has wireless access points campus-wide.

Paramount Jr. High School serves grades K-8 and is located on Hwy 19/20 in Boligee, Alabama.    The school received a distance learning lab in 2010. This new equipment provides the opportunity for distance learning and includes tablet computers for at least twenty-five students per class period. Other classrooms in the school are equipped with ceiling-mounted projectors, document cameras, interactive whiteboards, student response systems, a set of mini notebooks for elementary grades and wireless slates. Paramount also has wireless access points campus-wide.

All Greene County School locations including the Central Office and Bus Shop are connected by a 1 GB fiber network and 50mb Internet Access. Centralized software includes INOW for student management which includes STI Home, SchoolCast for emergency staff and student notification and Paceware. Other software programs include:  transportation software, Dolphin Fleet Management,  PLATO, Read 180, Successmaker, Voyager, Skills Tutor, Accelerated Reader, etc.
